What are Virtual Support Services?

Virtual Support Services (VSS) cover a range of remote activities that help small business owners get on top of their admin and run their businesses more smoothly. Think of it as having an experienced, organised person in your corner – without the overheads of hiring an employee. Whilst there’s a lot of overlap with traditional Virtual Assistant (VA) work, VSS also includes neuro-affirming support specifically designed for neurodivergent business owners – things like body-doubling, accountability check-ins, and building systems that work with your brain rather than against it.

It means there’s no judgement here – about how you work, how your week went, or why that one email has been sitting in your drafts since February. It means communication is flexible and adapted to what works for you. It means tasks get broken down into manageable chunks if that’s helpful, and that on a difficult day we figure out together what actually needs doing rather than ploughing through a list regardless. It’s not a specialist add-on you have to ask for specially – it’s just how everything here works.

Over 25 years of administrative experience, a Mental Health First Aider qualification, and a genuine understanding of how neurodivergent brains work – that’s the short version. The longer version is that clients consistently say the same things: that they feel trusted and not judged, that things actually get done without them having to chase, and that having support in place reduces their overwhelm significantly. You only pay for work done, with no employee overheads, no HR headaches, and no endless supply of hobnobs required (though they are always appreciated in spirit).

Core admin services include email and inbox management, diary and calendar management, document creation, data entry, spreadsheet work, mailing list management, CRM setup and maintenance, and process and workflow documentation. Alongside that, neuro-affirming support includes body-doubling sessions, accountability check-ins, communication strategy support, and task breakdown and prioritisation. There are also focused 1:1 sessions covering Admin Audits, Start-up Systems, and Implementing AI – all designed to give you targeted clarity without a long-term commitment. Head to the Services page for the full picture.

Monday to Friday, 10am to 6.30pm. I don’t work bank holidays or weekends. For standard work requests, please allow two working days – though it’s usually quicker depending on what’s in the queue. Please don’t send work requests after 4.30pm on Fridays unless we’ve agreed in writing that it’s urgent, and same-day requests after 5pm Monday to Thursday won’t be picked up until the next working day. I don’t monitor work emails or messages outside of working hours, but I will always respond the next available working day.

It’s a free 30-minute conversation – no preparation needed and no sales script on my end. We’ll have a chat about where you’re at, what’s causing the most admin chaos, and whether I’m the right person to help. If I’m not, I’ll say so and point you towards someone who is. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll talk about next steps. You can book directly via the Contact page.

1:1 focused sessions (Admin Audit, Start-up Systems, and Implementing AI) are £99 each, paid in advance. Body-doubling drop-in sessions are £45 per hour on a pay-as-you-go basis. Monthly retainers are available in three tiers – 10 hours at £400, 20 hours at £800, or 30 hours at £1,200 per month. Ad hoc work is £40 per hour, with time-and-a-half (£60) for outside normal hours and double time (£80) for urgent 24-hour turnarounds. Full details are on the Pricing page.

The better question is probably whether you can afford not to. Every hour you spend on admin is an hour you’re not spending on the work that actually earns you money. If you charge £50-150 per hour for your own services, delegating admin at £40 per hour makes financial sense pretty quickly. There are no employee costs, no National Insurance contributions, no pension, and no holiday pay – just support that scales to what you actually need.

No. There’s a short booking form and a Data Processing Agreement where relevant, but no lengthy contract to worry about. For retainer packages, a minimum of two months is recommended to get into a proper working rhythm and start seeing results – but after that, one month’s notice before your next billing date is all that’s needed to adjust or end your support. For 1:1 sessions and body-doubling, there’s no commitment at all – just book when you need it.

For 1:1 sessions and body-doubling, payment is required in advance at the time of booking via card. For ad hoc work and projects, a deposit is required upfront (between £40 and 50% of the project cost) with the balance invoiced at the end of the month, payable within 7 working days. For retainer packages, payment is required in full in advance, which secures your dedicated hours for that month. Up to 10% of unused retainer hours can roll over into the first week of the following month. All other payments are via bank transfer.
